Race Tier List — Which Race to Keep

Updated · Races

Quick answer

Nightborne is S tier on every list — lifesteal keeps you alive and it scales with evolution. Celestine is next (S on two lists), then Seraph, Sylvan and Dullahan at A. Human and Goblin are bottom tier. Dragonborn is too new to have been ranked yet.

Three independent lists, side by side. Where they agree, you can trust the ranking; where they don’t, we explain why.

Race Destructoid allthings.how Roonby Consensus
Nightborne S S S S — lifesteal sustain; evolutions add +25% damage vs enemies under half HP and turn overheal into a shield
Celestine S S A S/A — crit, dodge and magic that grow with evolution
Seraph A A S A — party damage reduction and healing; better in groups
Vesper A S B Split — strong once evolved (magic, Energy, counter after dodge)
Sylvan A A B A — great for Nature builds, but locks you into them
Dullahan A A — A — AoE burst with Headless Ride, limited by cooldown
Tideborn B B A B — mostly cleanse and healing; damage doesn’t match its rarity
Stonekin B B B B — good for Fist / blunt builds, beginner friendly
Ashborn B B C B/C
Dwarf, Slime, Mushroom C C C/B C
Human C D D D — only speeds up levelling
Goblin D D C D — farming gold only
Dragonborn — — — Not ranked yet (details)

When to stop rerolling

Remember races can be evolved — a mid-tier race with its evolutions unlocked can beat an unevolved rare one. See race evolution.

Race + class pairings (single source, treat as ideas)

The Fandom wiki suggests Dragonborn + Warrior + Survivor, Nightborne + Thief + Survivor and Celestine + Thief + Keen Eye. Destructoid and allthings.how both note Stonekin suits Fist / blunt builds.

FAQ

What is the best race in Pixel Lineage?

Nightborne — rated S by Destructoid, allthings.how and Roonby. Its lifesteal gives sustain, and its evolutions add bonus damage against low-HP enemies and turn overhealing into a shield.

Should I keep Seraph?

Yes, especially if you play in a party: its blessing cuts party damage by 10% and boosts healing by 25% at the start of each fight. Lists rate it A (Roonby: S).

Where does Dragonborn rank?

No tier list has ranked it yet — it arrived with the Oct 19–20 update. Its +15% max HP and fire resistance make it at least a solid pick.
