Tier lists for a weekly-updated game go stale fast and often copy each other, so instead of one more list we put four of them side by side and show where they agree. Agreement across independent lists is the most reliable signal you’ll get right now.
Best starting class
| Source | S | A | B | C | D |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gamezebo (Oct 13) | Warrior, Archer | Fist | Mage | Bard | Thief |
| pixel-lineage.com | Warrior, Mage | Bard, Archer | Thief, Fist | — | — |
| pixel-lineage.wiki (solo beginners) | Warrior | Bard, Archer | Fist, Mage | Thief | — |
Everyone agrees:
- Warrior is top tier. Highest HP and defense, Reinforced cuts the first hit of each fight, and it has Taunt. Its attacks are simple, so you can concentrate on dodge and block timing.
- Thief is bottom tier. Fast and crit-heavy but the lowest HP — punishing while you learn.
The big disagreement — Mage (S or B): pixel-lineage.com rates it S because it has the highest Magic and leads into two S-tier Supers (Hexer, Summoner). Gamezebo rates it B because it starts slow and only gets strong later. Both are true: Mage is a strong pick if you’re patient, a frustrating one if you want early wins.
Archer is the other easy option — straightforward damage, and Power Shot ignores 30% of defense.
Best Super classes
| Source | S tier | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| pixel-lineage.com | Hexer, Summoner, Sentinel, Cleric | B: Monk, Brawler, Rogue, Siren, Ranger; everything else A |
| Of Zen and Computing | Hexer, Sentinel, Assassin | D: Pianist |
| Gamezebo (Oct 19) | All Warrior and Mage Supers | Ranks whole families: Spear A, Bard/Archer B, Thief C, Fist D |
Consensus picks:
- Hexer (Mage) — S on all three. Its passive Ill Omen puts every enemy into Weakened (−15% damage for 2 turns) at the start of the fight. Ultra: Doomcaller.
- Sentinel (Warrior) — S on all three. Ignores 40% defense and counters; its Ultra (Aegis) stuns all enemies and shields the party.
- Cleric and Summoner (Mage) — S on two of three.
Where lists split the most: Assassin (S / A / C), Pianist (A vs D), Oni (A / C / D), Minstrel (A — S in parties — vs C). If you love one of these, it’s playable; just don’t expect every guide to back you.
Solo vs party
- Solo: Berserk is recommended by two sources; Of Zen also suggests Hexer and Summoner.
- 4-player party: Bard lines shine — Minstrel is strong in groups but weak solo (pixel-lineage.com suggests Pianist if you play Bard alone). Of Zen’s party core is Sentinel + Assassin + Siren + Deadeye.
- Avoid early in random groups: Beast Tamer, Oni and Pianist need set-up turns (Of Zen).
Late game and Spear
- One video guide (iddopt, Oct 21, as reported on the Fandom wiki) switched its endgame recommendation from Archon to Doomcaller — another point for the Hexer line.
- Gamezebo calls Dragonlord (Spear → Dragoon) “one of the strongest” right now, but Spear is a week old — see the Spear guide.
Remember your class and Super are permanent on a character (how class changes work), so it’s worth reading the reasons above before you pick.
